Inspired by the stunning natural event of a murmuration of starlings, Candice Mckay uses fluid shapes to mirror the evolving forms created by flocks of starlings performing their aerobatic displays. Colour sectioning and patterns reflect how the iridescent colours of the feathers create colour flashes and changes in light as the starlings move across the sky. The movement of the wings themselves has inspired the various textures, capturing how with every change of direction, each set of wings helps create a unique organic shape.
